About

I started working for my last employer in 2016, where translation immediately became an important part of my duties. In 2022, I eventually decided to continue focusing on the things that gave me the most satisfaction as an employee and started as an independent translator English-Dutch.

My specialisations include administrative, financial and legal documents and texts, software and websites, tourism and culture, and East Asia in all its facets.

Besides translating, I also write articles about Japan, its culture and travel advice for websites like Tokyo.nl.

I am also active as a director at Ganbaro VZW, where we are committed to organising an annual festival around Japanese pop culture: Atsusacon!

Services & Rates

I am happy to assist you with translations and revisions from English into Dutch. If you need translations from or into another language, I will be happy to help you find the ideal translator for your project. After all, it is important that translations are done by native speakers of the target language.

The rate depends on the project and urgency. After discussing your requirements and receiving the source documents, I will provide you with a customised quote without obligation.

For rush orders or for evening and weekend work, we do charge the rate at 130%. There may also be an additional charge if the source files are uneditable (as is the case with PDF’s or images).

There is a minimum rate of €50 excl. VAT per translation, but this may be waived if you send me several small jobs over a period of one month. Contact me for a quotation.

Tourism and culture

I love to travel and broaden my horizons. Translations related to tourism and culture are therefore entirely my cup of tea. Travel guides, travel agency brochures, hotel descriptions, articles, descriptions in museums… It doesn’t matter. I am the ideal partner for you and your project.

East Asia

For more than 15 years, I have harboured a passion for East Asia (China, Korea and especially Japan) in all its facets. I have travelled there myself on several occasions and thoroughly immersed myself in things like anime, manga, history, mythology, religion, culture and local cuisine.

I have also been an active working member of Ganbaro vzw for more than a decade (and since 2014 as a director), where we are committed to organising an annual festival around Japanese pop culture: Atsusacon! In addition, my last employer was an SME founded by Chinese, which was active in supporting the organisation of cultural events and exhibitions to promote relations between China and Europe.

This has provided me with a lot of experience and contacts that give me a strong basis for translations on these subjects. So look no further!

Specialisations

Administrative, legal and financial texts

Quarterly and annual reports, audits, bank documents, annual accounts, working regulations, deeds, privacy policies, data processing agreements, contracts, business plans… You name it.

At GS Translate, you’re at the right place for all business, legal and financial translations. I research the correct terminology and ensure that no detail is lost. It goes without saying that the texts supplied are handled with the greatest care and confidentiality.

Software and websites

Whether it is about your latest software or apps, a webshop or a website to introduce your organisation, I am the right person for a professional translation of all your software and digital media. If required, I can do the translation directly into WordPress, provided that the facilities are already in place.
Would you like to create a multilingual website, starting from scratch? No problem! Together with one of our partners, we will work out a tailor-made proposal.
